Ostia Antica
Ostia, built by Anco Marzio in 620 BC., according to the poet Ennio, derives its name from  “ostium” – “entrance” for the exploitation of the salinas at the mouth of the Tiber. Considered the main trading center of the capital, when it lost its military function, in the second century AD, Ostia became a flourishing and populous town. Magnificent architectural structures were built, especially the sumptuous buildings for professional associations. The “decumanus maximus” and its parallel streets will host the tour visit and will totally immerse us in this archaeological site, almost unchanged from the ancient times, and  we will be fascinated by one of the few ancient towns that are still able to tell their splendor through their mighty monuments.
